Open your reminders
- Open the NexRex app.
- Go to Settings.
- Tap Reminders.
Create a reminder
Tap Add reminder to open the template gallery, then either pick a template or tap Create custom reminder to start from scratch.Start from a template
The gallery ships 11 curated runner-habit templates grouped into Training, Fuel, Recovery, and Habits — for example Easy run, Strength session, Hydrate, Post-run refuel, Photo your meals, Wind-down, Mobility, Soreness check-in, Foam roll & massage, Morning weigh-in, and Weekly check-in. Each template card carries a one-line hook. Tapping it opens a detail sheet with a Why it matters explanation and two paths:- Add to my reminders — saves the template as-is with its suggested schedule.
- Customize schedule — opens the editor pre-filled with the template so you can adjust the time, days, or wording first.
Build your own
The editor starts with an identity card:- Emoji — a single emoji that represents the habit. It leads the reminder everywhere it appears, including push notifications.
- Name — what the nudge says, for example Fill the bottle.
- Description — optional supporting text.
- Repeats — choose Once, Daily, or Weekly.
- Date — one-time reminders need the date they fire.
- On these days — weekly reminders need at least one weekday. Tap the circular day tokens to toggle days on and off. The Save button stays disabled until at least one day is selected.
- Time — the local time of day the reminder is due, shown with its timezone.
Edit, pause, or delete a reminder
From the list screen:- Tap a reminder to open the editor and change any field. Existing reminders also gain a destructive Delete row at the bottom of the editor.
- Pause or resume a reminder with its toggle. Paused reminders move to the Paused section and stop being delivered until you re-enable them.
- Swipe a reminder to delete it. A confirmation dialog appears before anything is removed.
Delivery preferences
Delivery preferences are account-wide and apply to all of your reminders. Open them from the Delivery preferences action on the Reminders screen. The two channels are independent toggles:- Push notification — NexRex sends a push at the scheduled time.
- Home planner — due reminders appear in a Reminders section on your Home screen.
- The push preview shows a notification-style banner in the app, labelled PREVIEW, and dismisses itself automatically.
- The Home planner preview shows a static mock of how the reminder card appears on your home screen.
Due reminders on Home
When Home planner delivery is on, today’s due reminders appear in a Reminders section on the Home screen. Each entry has two actions:- Complete — marks today’s occurrence done.
- Skip — dismisses today’s occurrence without completing it.
Reminders on the web console
The web console has the same reminders under Settings → Reminders. The Runner reminders page shows your Push notifications and Home planner delivery toggles plus your Active and Paused reminders, each with enable/pause, edit, and delete controls. Creating or editing a reminder opens a form with the same template gallery and fields as the app: name, emoji, description, Repeats (Daily, Weekly, One time), time, weekday picker, and date for one-time reminders. Changes sync both ways — a reminder created on the web fires on your phone, and pauses made in the app show up on the web.Troubleshooting
I'm not getting push notifications for a reminder
I'm not getting push notifications for a reminder
Check three things: the reminder is in the Active section (not
Paused), Push notification is on in Delivery preferences, and
NexRex has notification permission in your phone’s system settings.
Due reminders don't appear on my Home screen
Due reminders don't appear on my Home screen
The Home Reminders section only renders when Home planner is
enabled in Delivery preferences. Turning it off also stops the
once-per-day digest.
I can't save a weekly reminder
I can't save a weekly reminder
Weekly reminders need at least one weekday selected. The summary strip
shows a pick a day prompt and Save stays disabled until you choose
one.
My emoji is rejected
My emoji is rejected
Reminders accept a single emoji. Some emoji that look like one character
are composed of several code points (for example variation-selector
emoji like ⚖️) and can’t be saved — pick a simpler emoji instead.
