Profile & units

Set your name, time zone, and preferred units (metric or imperial) under Settings → Profile.

Language

NexRex is available in:
  • English (en)
  • Traditional Chinese (zh-TW)
  • Japanese (ja)
The app follows your device language when it matches one of the supported options, and falls back to English otherwise. This covers in-app surfaces including the weekly check-in chat, analytics, calendar, and coach tools.

Notifications

Choose which updates you receive — weekly summaries, coach messages, and plan changes — under Settings → Notifications.

Social notifications

NexRex also notifies you about other runners’ interactions with you: Follow requests and accepted requests use the same setting as new followers, so one switch controls all follow notifications. You can confirm a follow request directly from its notification in the inbox. See Following and safety.

Notification inbox

Every notification NexRex sends you is also kept in an in-app inbox so you can revisit it later — handy if you dismissed a push notification or want to reopen last week’s summary. Open the inbox from the bell icon in the top-right of the home screen. A small badge on the bell shows how many unread notifications you have. From the inbox you can:
  • Tap a notification to jump back to what it was about — a weekly summary, an activity detail, a coach comment, or a plan update. Tapping also marks that notification as read.
  • Mark all read with the action in the top bar to clear the unread badge in one step.
Unread items are highlighted; read items appear muted. If you’ve never received a notification, or you’ve already read everything, you’ll see “You’re all caught up.”
If you use NexRex as both a runner and a coach, you’ll see a separate bell in the coach inbox header showing your coaching notifications (athletes’ activities, comments, and training events). Each bell has its own unread count, so runner and coach streams stay independent.

Privacy

The Privacy card under Settings → Profile controls who can see your training data. Its centerpiece is the Who can see your data grid: one row per data type (Activity, Route, Pace, Records, Races, Training, Profile) and one column per audience (Coach, Group, Followers, Everyone). A filled dot means that audience can see the row; tap a dot to flip it. Quick setup presets — Private, Coach, Community, Public — fill the whole grid in one tap. New accounts start on the Community preset. Changes save automatically; a Saving… / Saved indicator in the card header confirms each change. Only the rows you touch are updated, so editing one choice never resets the others.

Pace sharing

The Pace row covers your average pace, your per-kilometre (or per-mile) splits, and your lap times. Turn off an audience’s dot on the Pace row to withhold pace from that audience — including the Coach dot if you don’t want your coach to see pace. When you withhold pace from someone:
  • They still see the shared facts of your activities — distance, duration, and date.
  • NexRex removes pace and speed values from everything it sends them, including splits, charts, pace zones, and the developer API.
  • Your coach sees an explicit Pace not shared notice wherever pace would normally appear, so your choice isn’t mistaken for a watch that failed to record pace.
On the Community preset, pace is shared with your coach, group, and followers, but not with everyone.

Approve new followers

The Approve new followers switch controls whether people can follow you right away or must send a follow request that you confirm. By default, NexRex requires approval whenever any row in your grid is visible to Followers but not to Everyone. The Community preset works this way, so new accounts require approval. If you share everything with Everyone, or nothing with Followers, approval is off by default. Flip the switch to override the default. The Followers audience only includes followers you’ve approved. Pending and declined requests never see follower-only data. When you turn approval off:
  • Anyone can follow you right away and see what your followers see.
  • NexRex accepts all of your pending follow requests.
  • Requests you already declined stay declined.
To manage follow requests and followers, see Following and safety.

My teams

Settings → My teams lists every organization (team) you belong to. Coaches in a team can see your training data. Each team shows:
  • The team name, with a Current tag on your active organization.
  • Your coach, when one is assigned to you.
  • Your role in the team, such as Athlete, Coach, Head coach, or Admin.
If you aren’t part of any team, the screen reads “You’re not part of any team yet.”

Leave a team

If you’re an athlete in a team, you can leave it yourself:
  1. Open Settings → My teams.
  2. Tap Leave this team on the team you want to leave.
  3. Review the confirmation and tap Leave team.
When you leave a team:
  • The team’s coaches lose access to your data.
  • NexRex removes you from the team’s groups and group plans.
  • Your personal training history stays with you.
  • If the team was your active organization, NexRex switches your active organization to another team you still belong to.
NexRex notifies the team’s head coach and your assigned coach that you left.
Leave this team is only available to athletes. Coaches, head coaches, and admins can’t leave a team from this screen. Ask the team owner to remove you instead.

Connections

Manage linked services like Garmin, Strava, and Apple Health under Settings → Connections. See Connect a device.
The same Connections page has an MCP Server section for connecting AI coding agents (Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI) to your own NexRex data — unrelated to Garmin/Strava/Apple Health. See MCP Server.
